Another way to connect with CSAG is to visit us at one of our Make and Take events throughout the year. Members are available to assist visitors in making a small weaving, usually for free, so that you can get an idea of what is involved with wheat weaving, aka straw art. We regularly have Make and Take opportunities at the following venues:

  • Rush Ranch Open House
    Located in Suisun, near Fairfield, Rush Ranch has an open house usually scheduled the last  Saturday in April.

  • California State Fair
    Located at Exposition Center in Sacramento, CSAG members offer Make & Take two days during the run of the fair during the month of July.   In addition to Make & Take, CSAG members participate in the Straw Arts Class of the California Crafts competition.  While there, you can view the wide variety of member submissions in the Creative Arts Building 8, lower-level.  For State Fair information click here.

  • Scandinavian Festival
    In Sacramento.  There is food, merchandise and displays by all the Scandinavian sub-groups, as well as our Make & Take table.  NEW date & NEW location for 2017:   Saturday, August 19, at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 6151 H Street, Sacramento from 10 to 4.
